Network Licences  Additional network licenses at a single site are available at a substantial discount based on the cost of the first copy as shown in the Network Licence Discount Structure.  Each network licence enables an additional user to login to a networked database concurrently, or to replicate data to a Notebook PC that can be taken out of the office.  (A network may be set up so that everyone on the network can use the system.  The restriction is purely on how many are actually logged into the system at any one time.)

Since GEM can be replicated to Client PC's so they can be used whilst not connected to the Server, each such copy counts as one simultaneous user - whether currently connected or not.  (A single user licence can still be replicated to a single client PC, but it can only be used whilst disconnected.)

If more than 5 licences per site are required, a Microsoft SQL Server licence will also be needed,  (Users of Microsoft 'Small Business Server' may already have an SQL Server licence.)  Please enquire about Microsoft licensing issues if more than 5 simultaneous Users are required.

To work out the cost of a network licence use the Registration Wizard in the GEM Administration program on the Windows Start Menu.  If you want a multi-site licence please contact This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

Upgrades  Clients who have purchased the system without ‘Software Assurance’ will be invited to order upgrades when available.  Upgrades will be priced according to their significance.  Clients, who have purchased ‘Software Assurance’ or are leasing the system, will be entitled to up to two free upgrades on CD per year to the modules they have licensed.  (Additional modules are planned for future release. Smaller upgrades may be offered from time to time for free download or the cost of distributing the CDs.)

Re-registration  Users can, at any time, increase the size of their system by re-running the Registration Wizard and changing their registration details on-line.  The only additional investment required will be the difference in price between the new system and the existing system at the prices prevailing at the time of re-registration.  (There will be no refunds available for downsizing.)

Should it become necessary for any reason to re-register a system without increasing the size or features of the system within 12 months of the previous registration (e.g. the registered address needs to be changed or the software is moved to another computer), and for any reason the client does not wish to do this on-line, then a manual re-registration fee may apply.
